Oslo Voices synger Julekonsert i Trefoldighetskirken 2012

Oslo Voices chamber choir was founded March 9th 2012 and consists of 34 driven and experienced singers with a great love of song. Our main aim is to enthrall the audience with beautiful classical music. We have a wide repertoire that spans from renaissance music to newly written works. We are a modern, serious and ambitious choir.

Together with our conductor Ingrid Hanken, we have set long term and ambitious goals for the further development of the choir. We seek to create a well-balanced ensemble that can perform technically demanding music of top quality, both larger works and separate pieces.

To further develop our singers’ technical skills we arrange multiple weekend seminars every year, also with external conductors. We emphasize the combination of hard work and play so every singer can reach his or her full potential.

In 2016, Oslo Voices participated in The International May Choir Competition Prof. Georgi Dimitrov, Varna, Bulgaria, where we placed 3rd in the Category Mixed Choirs. In 2015, we participated in the international choir festival Mundus Cantat in Sopot, Poland. We won both categories we participated in (Sacred Music and Secular and Folk Music) and we also received gold diplomas.  In 2012, Oslo Voices participated in the Norwegian championship for choirs, and placed 2nd and 3rd in our respective classes; Sacred music class A and Mixed choir class A. We received gold diplomas in both classes, and were chosen to participate in the Grand Prix finale.

The choir’s future plans consist of concerts in Oslo and its vicinity, and tours in both Norway and abroad.
